Requirements:
To be promoted to the rank
of F2 a member needs to satisfy the following requirements:
Successful completion of the six-month
probationary period.
Successful completion of the New York State Fire
Training classes; Firefighter I (equivalent TR2000–Basic and
TR2000–Intermediate).
Display a level of competency commensurate with
the rank of F2 at drills, on the fire ground and at other emergency scenes.
Obtain certification in Cardio-Pulmonary
Resuscitation (CPR).
Responsibilities:
To maintain an “Active” status as an F2 the member is required to achieve a minimum number of performance metrics each District year (December-November):
Respond to no less than the minimum number of
calls for the given calendar year as prescribed by the District.
Annually attend the OSHA Safety and OSHA HAZMAT
Awareness drills.
Attend the district drill on Blood Born
Pathogens—typically conducted in conjunction with the OSHA Safety drill.
Attend at least six district-sanctioned drills.
Attend at least 8 hours of safety, fire or
rescue education.
Be fit tested to use a Self-Contained Breathing
Apparatus (SCBA).
Attend one seminar annually.
F3
Requirements (Apparatus Operator)
Requirements:
To be promoted to the rank
of F3 a member needs to satisfy the following requirements:
Successfully complete the requirements for and
achieve the rank of F2.
Be at least 21 years of age[1].
Successfully complete the
Successfully complete the New York State
Apparatus Pump Operator class[2].
Attend the New York State Driver Safety course.
Display a level of familiarity and become
certified on the relevant apparatus.
Display a level of competency commensurate with
the rank of F3 at drills, on the fire ground and at other emergency scenes.
Responsibilities:
To maintain an “Active” status as an F3 the member is required to achieve a minimum number of performance metrics each District year:
Respond to no less than the minimum number of
calls for the given calendar year as prescribed by the District.

Pathogens.
Attend at least six district-sanctioned drills.

Training class; Firefighter I (equivalent TR2000–Advanced.
As an option, successfully complete the New York
State Fire Training classes; Firefighter Survival and Firefighter Assist &
Search Team Tactics (FAST).
Display a level of competency commensurate with
the rank of F4 at drills, on the fire ground and at other emergency scenes.
Responsibilities:
To maintain an “Active” status as an F4 the member is required to achieve a minimum number of performance metrics each District year:
Respond to no less than the minimum number of
calls for the given calendar year as prescribed by the District.
Annually attend the OSHA Safety and OSHA HAZMAT
Awareness drills.
Attend the district drill on Blood Born
Pathogens.
Attend at least six district-sanctioned drills.
