The LaGrange Fire District
Ladies Auxiliary

The Auxiliary of Company #2, as it is known, was founded in June, 1954, by Virginia "Ginny" Anderson. It was all started with a door-to-door "dues collecting" campaign along Noxon Road (with a baby carriage!), which provided the funds for the purchase of their first emergency supplies--two wool blankets. The blankets were used at fires and accidents, and on occasion by the firefighters themselves. Today, the Auxiliary furnishes food and drink to firefighters operating at emergency scenes. They provide assistance to firefighters with their fundraising and community service efforts, all in addition to conducting their own events.

While the Auxiliary of Company 3 may be gone, in their absence, the Auxiliaries of Companies 1 & 2 have stepped in to fill the void, becoming an Auxiliary for the entire district. In 2004, the Auxiliary of Company #2 celebrated their 50th anniversary.
